Migrant Crisis. who is responsible ?

If I will tell the truth, I will be hounded as insensitive, because people love to twist facts to suit their Agenda. However, The fact remains that, when it started
1. The first response should have come from the contractor of these labour. They could have tied up with local administration to ensure various Government benefits reaches them. My Maid has received 500 per month from Government in her Bank account. Her father received (2000+500) from GOI. Plus free ration was provided. NGOs pitched in.Where were the contractors who sourced these labors ? where were association of Auto walas ? They needed to come together.
2. Its two month since the crisis and Lockdown. What was local Administration doing ? by now, a database of migrant labor in their district should have been created. their family traced in. what were they doing
3. My phone gets frequent calls of main Delhi ka CM bol raha hoon, main Bihar ka CM bol raha hoon. Could not these guys call the labors then ? Assuage their fear . How many State Government chose to interact with other State Government and took care of people of their domicile ?
4. And when these media wala's finally got hold of these poor migrants, how many actually contacted with local administration and brought news to the conclusion with ultimate help. TRP hungry vultures. I don't want to shoot the messenger, but what were they doing ?
5. And the worst of the lot is millions whats app forward from IT cells of vested interest. My maid was under the illusion that she wont be able to go home for next two years. Trains will Just run once and those who missed it wont be able to go home. Many Labors has been driven by this fear psychosis and panicked. Those who created panic where responsible.
6. And the final point is that, pre corona days were not golden for Indian poor. They were exploited, working in pathetic condition, underpaid and were dying without anyone noticing. But now since, it suits certain agenda, vultures are using it to target, after conveniently neglecting the good work done, amidst the challenge that India is.
Very disappointed and disgusted by certain section of people in our Country.

Managements lesson from Covid-19 crisis

I am trying my best to stay Apolitical. However, when everyone is playing politics all around, its difficult. Still I will try to focus on Governance and not on Politics. Recently, Migrants have started to reach various part of the countries. A random test shows that around 7% in Bihar, and 25% of symptomatic patient in UP are Covid-19 Positive. It Shows that the violation of Quarantine of these migrants would eventually lead to Community transmission, which India seems to be avoiding(though certain pockets have reported the same. With 80% of Asymptomatic Covid-19 Positive, this community transmission could be dangerous for States/District ill Equipped with Medical facility. Owing to pathetic nature of Quarantine facility at places, migrants are running away and we have many untraceable migrants.
One more news regarding, pilgrimage tourist of a state witnessed Share increase in Covid-19 positive, when they reached home. Now the matter is settled. But the question remains.
The Question is to ponder about the duties and responsibilities of local administration in such cases. Once the crisis broke out, the first and foremost responsibility assigned to the local administration was to identify and help Extremely vulnerable people. These included
1. Beggars
2. Recently settled migrants
3. Tourist
I am including those people, who were without any kind of local support system. Slum dwellers, Chawl residents, migrants who had been living for more than 2-3 years becomes a part of a social system that reduces their vulnerability. They can easily be supported by awareness, PMJDY, PDS system etc. However, the extremely vulnerable group are more prone to fall covid-19 trap.
And This is where local administration should have actually focused on. Its sad that many State has failed in addressing this. Whats worse is that, tourist and migrants accounts for vital addition in GDP and by ignoring those, they have proven that, these are unwelcome. Many states will witness poor GDP growth from tourist and increase in labor cost owing to these, which will hamper their GDP growth and recovery.
Whats done is done. We cant Change that. But what can we actually do is to make it a case study and focus on better disaster mitigation in future. All DMs, Police force etc, should be made more aware and educated. I am sure that Covid-19 is not the first and it wont be last. Frequency of such pandemic is only going to increase, and those who will adapt better, will not only survive, but will rise.
Each Crisis(while its world war I or II,or other) resets the world order. The world order is about to be reset. India is in Pole position to take the lead. Can India do it ? Will All levels of Governance will learn from each other and emerge as a stronger opportunity is a thing to watch.
I wish all the best. I hope, we all learn, and we all rise.

Mahatma Gandhiji : Relevance of his Management Skills to Managers in Current Era

Mr. Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhiji popularly known as Bapu has always been remembered for his patriotism and message of world peace. However, there is one side of him that has been ignored; His capacity to manage and run a successful organization. This is not only about his philosophical capacity to endure and be focussed on his cause but also the ability to convert a totally scattered organization to one that is ruling India until now. His marketing capability connected him to the mass and made them move against their own will at times to follow the words of Gandhiji. It is his capacity to do what is right against all criticism and keep bigger picture in foresight. We should to learn from him the essence of loosing battles but winning war. Let us learn his major decision and ground work before that.
Pre Gandhiji Congress
In surat session of congress (1907) not only congress got divided but was rendered useless and politically inactive. Totally unguided and covered in adamancy of leader’s congress was reduced to annual three-day cry. It was not until 1915 that they could reconcile. Thus they were totally incapable of having a country wide adamant and has to depend on home leagues which were leaders.
Lesson one of Gandhiji: Outsourcing
When Gandhiji entered National politics, there was no nationwide organization to run any movement at national level. Most of these organizations have some appeal but they could never connect to common mass. Therefore, in current terms, his supply chain network was useless. So he had four options either (1) leave it (Many Start up do the same) (2) Rebuild (many MNC do the same) (3) Outsource (an Emerging trend in recent times) (4) Mergers and acquisition (done after valuation)
Anyway, Mr. Gandhiji outsourced his supply chain using Home rule league, pan-Islamist group and his own Satyagraha Sabha. This enabled him to make his localized movement on a national scale in a very short span of time. Outsourcing is a concept use widely lately and it should be used wisely for fast growth.
Lesson two of Gandhiji: Logo/Branding
Branding is a concept that has gained momentum recently. However, Gandhiji realized importance of branding long back. It must be his wise consciousness that he decided to make Khadi as a brand and charkha as a national symbol. This association with khadi, which was widely available and easily accessible to common people made Gandhiji and his movement nationwide success.
Lesson Three of Gandhiji: Mass vs Class debate
Prior to Gandhiji, Congress was a party of intellectuals. Very few leaders were there and membership was not extended to common public, as price of having a membership was high. On the behest of Mr. Gandhiji congress started a four anna membership enabling poor to be a part of it.
This long debate is running since times of apple and Microsoft. However, with times people have realized that mass is always more profitable and chance of survivability is high with mass. Apple may be champion for now but its consistency is no match for Microsoft. With time, many companies followed this strategy.
Lesson 4 of Gandhiji: Mass connect by localized events and customization
One of the key aspects of Gandhiji has been customization and connecting at local level. Considering a diverse country like India this strategy did wonders. This allowed him to connect with Gujarat or Decca or Bihar and even south. He organized Satyagraha in South Africa. However, once he entered India his choice of methods varied. In Champaran and Kheda his first major campaign, it was Satyagraha but when he moved to Ahmedabad he used hunger strike. Over time, he used Hartal or closure of shops, Non Corporation and civil disobedience. This customization not only increased his popularity but also assured success of his missions. Based on aim of organization of events and place he chose means.
Lesson 5 of Gandhiji: Door to Door campaign
Those were not days of television and reach of newspaper was still limited. That is why a mass campaign of Dandi march started. Visiting villages and connecting with his target market using things they identify with Gandhiji Managed to gather a large support base which ultimately lead to final independence.
Lesson 6 of Gandhiji: Adherence to policies and roadmap
The withdrawal of non-cooperation movement over chauri chaura raised many eyebrow and still debatable. However, from mangers point of view if u see, if a company will lose direction or employee or stakeholder will not follow well settled path then no one can stop Enron or Satyam over time. His fear can be well justified and if over time one can see future of many nations which has emerged out of such coups. The debate can always on for democracy (India) or single party state (china) but thing is once a mean has been decided it has to be adhered. Any diversion will create chaos.
Lesson 7 of Gandhiji: Do everything rather than surrender
This Fighting spirit of Gandhiji is quite evident in struggling companies like Nokia and RIM at present. Gandhiji said do everything rightful and with true conscious than simply surrender.
Our Youth at Present who have not studied History well Might not be in favour of Gandhiji’s View. He might have made few mistakes in process of great struggle. However, no one can Challenge on thing. He UNITED India. He inspired likes of Bhagat singh and Netaji at times. Despite differences, their mutual respect is commendable. Saying this, I am not against Nathuram Godse views but I do not approve his action.

Obituary to My Best Friend Sumit

Obituary to My Beloved Mausi
